The unveiling ceremony of the Chinese Tea Culture Center in Paris was held
On October 8, Paris witnessed the inauguration of the Centre Culturel du Thé Chinois à Paris, a new hub dedicated to promoting Chinese tea culture in Europe.
Present at the ceremony were several distinguished guests, including Wang Yin, Cultural Counsellor from the Chinese Embassy in France; Cai Junzhu, President of the French Chinese Community Association; Jeremy Tamen, President of the French Tea Producers Promotion Association; Hong Feng, Chair of the Paris Chinese Tea Culture Centre; and Jiang Zhidong, co-founder and Vice Chairman of the Centre. Together, they unveiled the center, marking a significant milestone in cross-cultural exchange.
During his opening remarks, Hong Feng elaborated on the background and future vision of the Paris Chinese Tea Culture Centre. He described it as a non-profit organization focused on spreading Chinese tea culture across Europe and assisting the Chinese tea industry in tapping into European markets. “Our goal is to showcase the charm and value of Chinese tea culture to a wider audience in Europe. The Centre will serve as a beacon, reestablishing China’s tea on the world stage,” he stated. He emphasized the role of tea in building bridges of friendship and promoting exemplary Chinese culture. To realize this vision, the Centre will create a vibrant platform for cultural exchange, including tea tasting events and organizing tea culture tours.
Wang Yin highlighted the significance of tea culture as a vital part of Chinese heritage, noting that the establishment of the Centre offers a new opportunity for enhancing cultural exchanges between China and France.
Cai Junzhu underscored the Centre’s potential to foster grassroots exchanges between the two countries and expressed optimism about future collaborative endeavors.
Jeremy Tamen shared insights into the similarities and differences between Chinese and French tea products, expressing his eagerness for deeper cultural exchanges.
Jiang Zhidong conveyed his hopes to utilize the Centre to promote high-quality black tea and tea culture throughout Europe. He aims to cater to the needs of European consumers while furthering Sino-French cultural exchange and collaboration.
