The “Chinese Teaching Heroes Competition,” organized by the Language Exchange Cooperation Center of the Chinese Ministry of Education, aims to enhance the teaching skills of Chinese language educators. This year, 120 local Chinese teachers from 101 schools under the Thai Ministry of Education participated in the event.

Present at the closing ceremony were Xu Lan, the Education Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, and Patana, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Basic Education Commission of the Thai Ministry of Education.

In her speech, Xu Lan emphasized the significance of the competition as a key event in Thailand’s Chinese education sector. She noted that it serves not only as a platform for showcasing teaching skills but also as a means to foster communication among educators and drive innovation in Chinese language teaching. The Chinese Embassy in Thailand will continue to collaborate closely with Thai educational authorities to provide more training and exchange opportunities for Chinese teachers, aiming to enhance the overall quality of Chinese education in Thailand.

Patana remarked that the participants are vital contributors to the promotion of Chinese learning in Thailand. He encouraged teachers to enhance their communication and continuously improve their professional teaching abilities.

The competition was divided into two categories: secondary and primary education. A total of 11 secondary school and 12 primary school teachers took part in the finals, which included four segments: lesson preparation, lesson presentation, teaching demonstration, and a question-and-answer session. Contestants taught Chinese to simulated classrooms filled with Thai students, showcasing their proficiency in utilizing new teaching techniques and exhibiting a solid understanding of Chinese culture during the competition.
