The East-West collaborative -Three Projects- order class has enrolled more than 3,000 students in total
On October 9, a seminar focusing on the “Three Major Projects” of East-West Cooperation was held in Guangzhou. Preliminary data indicates that Guangzhou has launched 68 training classes as part of this initiative, in collaboration with its partner regions—Anshun, Bijie, and Qiannan—enrolling over 3,000 students in recent years.
The seminar underscored the progress made by Guangzhou and its partner regions in fully implementing the key points of cooperation between Guangdong and Guizhou provinces. Initiatives such as “Cantonese Cuisine Masters,” “Guangdong Technicians,” and “Southern Guangdong Family Services” were highlighted for their vigorous promotion. Significant collaboration between local businesses and vocational schools has led to the creation of a comprehensive “recruitment-training-employment” cycle, exploring effective models of school-enterprise cooperation and vocational education through ordered classes.
Yang Qinghua, a senior researcher with the Guangzhou Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, emphasized that Guangzhou is a national leader in skilled talent training. Looking ahead to the 47th World Skills Competition in Lyon, France, in September 2024, participants from Guangzhou are preparing to compete after previously securing 7 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal—almost one-fifth of the country’s gold medals. In recent years, the Guangzhou Federation of Trade Unions has played a key role in establishing partnerships between 18 local enterprises and vocational institutions in Bijie, Qiannan, and Anshun, culminating in the creation of 85 ordered classes. This includes 7 classes for “Cantonese Cuisine Masters,” 67 for “Guangdong Technicians,” and 11 for “Southern Guangdong Family Services,” successfully training over 3,200 students and achieving the goal of “one job means one household lifted out of poverty.”
Yang Hui, a member of the Party Committee and vice president of Bijie Vocational and Technical College, pointed out that their institution currently has 1,960 students enrolled in these ordered classes and boasts a 100% employment rate for graduates, with 318 securing positions in major state-owned enterprises. The college’s programs are closely aligned with Guangdong’s initiatives, fostering a collaborative educational model that partners with key enterprises and educational institutions, currently co-sponsoring 55 ordered classes.
Wang Wen, a member of the Party Committee and vice president of Anshun Ethnic Secondary Vocational School, shared that since 2021, the school has been actively sending personnel for on-the-job training and study programs. They have established cooperation agreements with institutions such as the Guangzhou Preschool Teacher Training School, enabling extensive collaboration in teaching management and faculty development. In terms of school-enterprise partnerships, the institution has also joined forces with Xinwanda Electronics Co., Ltd., utilizing an ordered class model for talent development, with four classes already established across various professional fields.
