Mario endorsed Chen Xueliang, praising him for respecting the rule of law and having common sense
In a recent press conference, Chen Hsueh-Li, who is running for the Republican and Conservative party nomination for the New York State Senate seat in Brooklyn’s 17th District, received the endorsement of Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis. During the event, Malliotakis highlighted troubling crime statistics from the 62nd precinct in Bensonhurst that have raised concerns in the community. She emphasized the need for representatives who understand common sense and respect for the rule of law, which is why she chose to support Chen.
The two held the press conference outside the 62nd precinct, where Chen Hsueh-Li criticized the policies supported by the current State Senator, Julia Salazar, stating that they are out of touch with the beliefs of residents in South Brooklyn. “She is not a friend of the community,” he remarked, stressing the urgent need for a leader who will advocate for the community and help create a safe living environment to achieve the American dream.
Malliotakis praised Chen not only for his willingness to serve his country as a veteran but also for continuing his service as a police officer with the NYPD. “Having a leader who supports common sense policies and understands and respects the rule of law is crucial for the community,” she said. She pointed to the alarming crime statistics in the precinct, noting a 19% increase in felony assaults, an 18% rise in auto thefts, and a staggering 250% increase in homicides compared to the same period last year. She urged voters to heed these troubling figures and elect officials who will genuinely prioritize community safety.
