Korean media- Samsung Electronics will end LED business

According to a report from South Korea’s leading financial newspaper, the Daily Economic News, Samsung Electronics is set to shut down its LED business, which currently operates under the company’s Device Solutions division. By discontinuing this non-core LED operation, Samsung aims to refocus its efforts on its primary business sectors. The report did not disclose any sources.

Additionally, the Daily Economic News noted that Samsung is planning to enhance internal collaboration and communication by deploying research and development teams directly to the production lines. Furthermore, it appears that the company is likely to conduct executive personnel changes earlier this year, potentially moving up the schedule to a timeframe before the usual late November to early December window.
