Fujian overseas Chinese community celebrates the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China
On September 27, the Fujian Museum hosted a vibrant celebration titled “Praise Fuzhou, Sing Glory to the Motherland” in honor of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The event brought together representatives from overseas Chinese communities to celebrate the remarkable advancements in social and economic development since the establishment of New China. Participants expressed their deep appreciation and warm wishes for their homeland through lively performances filled with song, dance, and heartfelt emotion.
As the festivities unfolded, performers adorned in dazzling costumes graced the stage, delivering powerful renditions of songs like “Ode to the Flag,” “Kissing the Motherland,” and “Our Beautiful Motherland.” These performances highlighted the overseas Chinese community’s respect for the national flag and their unwavering love for their homeland. The program also featured traditional pieces infused with Minnan culture, such as “Exploring Sanfang Qixiang,” “Song of the Character ‘Fu’,” “The Most Beautiful Fuzhou in the World,” and “Fuzhou, You Are Awesome,” all of which illustrated a dynamic portrayal of Fuzhou as a modern and international city.
The event culminated in a moving group performance of the song “Singing to the Motherland,” which inspired attendees to stand together in solidarity, voicing their best wishes for the nation and offering high praise for the exceptional performances.
Organized by the Fujian Provincial Overseas Chinese Federation, the Fuzhou Overseas Chinese Federation, and the Hou County Community Red Voice Overseas Chinese Think Tank, the event also received support from various local organizations, including the Gulou District Overseas Chinese Federation, the Fuzhou Xiangshan Military Retired Cadres Service Center, and the Fuzhou Municipal Committee of the Democratic League. Notable dignitaries in attendance included Weng Xiaojie from the Fujian Provincial Overseas Chinese Federation, Wu Wuhuang, a second-level inspector, along with representatives from both organizing and supporting bodies, and members of the overseas Chinese community.
