Cold air will continue to affect the central and eastern regions, and there will be significant rain and snow in the eastern part of Northeast China.
During an interview with a representative from the Central Meteorological Station, we learned that a cold front will significantly impact central and eastern China from October 22 to 23. The northeastern regions, northern North China, eastern Huanghuai, and the Jianghuai area can expect temperatures to drop between 3 to 6 degrees Celsius, with some areas experiencing drops of more than 8 degrees.
The representative noted that during the day on October 22 and 23, parts of eastern Northeast China are likely to see moderate to heavy rainfall, particularly in southeastern Heilongjiang and eastern Jilin, where intense downpours may occur. There’s also a possibility of rain turning to snow or sleet in eastern Jilin and Heilongjiang, with some regions facing heavy snowfall and even blizzard conditions. Furthermore, from October 23 to 24, northern Xinjiang is anticipated to receive light to moderate snow or sleet, while the Altai mountainous area may see severe blizzards. In Taiwan, most areas are expected to experience moderate to heavy rain, with certain eastern regions facing heavy downpours.
For the next three days, the forecast specifies that from 8 AM on October 22 to 8 AM on October 23, regions in northern Xinjiang, most of Liaoning, central and eastern Jilin, and eastern Heilongjiang are likely to see light snow or sleet. Areas in northeastern Heilongjiang, eastern and southern Liaoning, southwestern Yunnan, and Taiwan may experience moderate to heavy rain, with southeastern Heilongjiang and eastern Jilin likely facing heavy rain (50-55 mm). Winds of 5 to 6 levels can be expected in northeastern Heilongjiang.
Looking ahead, from 8 AM on October 23 to 8 AM on October 24, the Altai and Tianshan mountain regions in northern Xinjiang, along with northeastern Inner Mongolia, western and southeastern Heilongjiang, eastern Jilin, and parts of Tibet and Qinghai, are forecasted to see light to moderate snow or sleet. Northern Xinjiang’s Altai region may experience severe blizzard conditions. Furthermore, eastern and northeastern Jilin, northwestern Yunnan, and most parts of Taiwan are likely to have moderate to heavy rain, with some areas in northern and eastern Taiwan potentially receiving heavy downpours or torrential rain (100-150 mm).
Finally, from 8 AM on October 24 to 8 AM on October 25, the areas along the Tianshan mountains and western southern Xinjiang, as well as northern Tibet and central-southern Qinghai, may see light to moderate snow or sleet. Similar conditions are predicted for northwestern Yunnan and much of Taiwan, where some regions in central and eastern Taiwan could face heavy downpours or torrential rain (100-200 mm).
