-China-ASEAN Statistical Yearbook 2024- released to present the development results of China-ASEAN_1
On October 22–23, the 2024 ASEAN-China “10+1” Statistical Cooperation Development Forum took place in Nanning, Guangxi, where the “China-ASEAN Statistical Yearbook 2024” and “China-ASEAN Statistical Exchange Compendium” were officially launched.
These publications mark a significant milestone in reflecting the socio-economic development of China and the ten ASEAN countries. The “China-ASEAN Statistical Yearbook” serves as an annual resource highlighting statistical cooperation between China and ASEAN, having published nine volumes since its inception in 2016.
The “China-ASEAN Statistical Yearbook 2024” was jointly edited by the National Bureau of Statistics International Statistical Information Center, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Statistical Bureau, and the National Bureau of Statistics Guangxi Investigation Team. It comprises comprehensive and rich data, divided into two sections: a general overview and thematic chapters. The yearbook contains 20 chapters detailing key statistical information from 2023 and significant historical years, addressing various socio-economic indicators, including population employment, national economic accounting, prices, trade investment, business conditions, tourism, transportation, agriculture, economic exchanges, healthcare, and more. Additionally, it emphasizes unique thematic indicators that highlight the distinctive aspects of each ASEAN country’s economic and social development, utilizing text, data, and illustrations to showcase the achievements of practical cooperation between China and ASEAN.
Moreover, the “China-ASEAN Statistical Exchange Compendium” is an inaugural collection of forum exchange results stemming from ten years of statistical cooperation between China and ASEAN. This compilation features 50 carefully selected articles that represent key speeches from previous China-ASEAN Statistical Forums, bringing together insights and practical experiences from both China and ASEAN countries in the field of statistics.
The Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Statistical Bureau emphasized that the publication of the “China-ASEAN Statistical Yearbook 2024” and the “China-ASEAN Statistical Exchange Compendium” will provide essential data to support research and monitoring of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area’s development, serving as a valuable reference for related decision-making. This initiative is expected to enhance mutual understanding of socio-economic development between governments and the international community, while further promoting in-depth exchanges, shared statistical resources, and collaborative learning among the statistical authorities of China and ASEAN countries.
