Xi Jinping replied to encourage student representatives participating in the China International University Student Innovation Competition
In a recent letter, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, President of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, expressed his encouragement and hopes to representatives of students participating in the China International College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
Xi emphasized the significance of using the competition as a platform, where students can apply the knowledge gained in classrooms and laboratories to solve real-world problems. He highlighted how engaging in innovative practices enhances their skills and promotes friendship between Chinese and international youth through mutual learning and exchange.
The President underscored that innovation is a key driving force for human progress and that young people play a vital role in this process. He encouraged the students to embrace the spirit of science and actively participate in technological innovation, contributing their youthful energy to enhance Sino-foreign scientific exchange and drive technological advancement. He also called for society to support the growth and development of youth, fostering an environment that encourages innovation and entrepreneurship, enabling young people to showcase their talents in the landscape of China’s modernization.
The China International College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, co-hosted by the Ministry of Education and relevant departments along with provincial governments, offers a platform for innovation and collaboration among university students from around the world. This year’s competition attracted over 20 million participants from 153 countries and regions, including nearly 40,000 international students, with the finals held in Shanghai. Recently, 25 student representatives wrote to Xi, sharing their experiences from the competition and expressing their commitment to engaging in innovative practices and embracing the challenges of their generation.
