Three major automobile events will be held in Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone
On October 17, a press conference for the 2025 World Supercar Challenge was held at the Smart E-sports Event Center in Beijing. The event announced that the 2025 World Supercar Challenge, along with competitions for new energy vehicles and intelligent connected cars, will take place in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone (Beijing Yi Zhuang).
The championship is set to kick off in October 2025, with top drivers from around the globe coming together by the picturesque Tongming Lake for an exhilarating showdown of speed and passion.
According to a representative from the organizing team, significant progress has already been made, including site selection, track assessment, design, competition regulations, and scheduling. “We are now moving into the detailed design phase of the track and will soon submit it for approval to the FIA,” the representative stated. “We are collaborating with SRO Motorsports Group, the world’s largest motorsport company, along with other industry specialists to ensure that all event preparations run smoothly and efficiently.”
The representative also shared insights into the broader implications of the events. “These competitions will align with Beijing’s high-level autonomous driving demonstration zone and the new energy vehicle industry chain in Yi Zhuang, fostering research, production, and practical use through the events themselves. This initiative aims to promote the high-quality development of advanced automotive and intelligent new energy vehicle industries in the region.”
Officials expressed aspirations for the event to redefine the city’s image, branding it as a premier destination for world-class competitions.
Furthermore, the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone plans to enhance the event experience by hosting various carnival activities to complement the main competitions. These activities will encourage a fusion of industries, culture, and tourism while showcasing the rich industrial culture of Yi Zhuang. With the exceptional resources of the high-level racetrack, the zone intends to organize diverse events such as driver meet-and-greets, track experience days, and go-kart championships, creating a cultural phenomenon within the autonomous driving and new energy vehicle sectors.
