As travel options expand with the opening of new rail lines like the Zhangjiajie-Jishou-Huayuan High-Speed Railway and the Qianzhangchang Railway, more travelers are opting for high-speed trains to popular destinations in Hunan, such as Zhangjiajie and Phoenix Ancient Town. To further facilitate this travel, the railway authorities will introduce a new “Changsha + Phoenix Ancient Town + Zhangjiajie” travel pass starting October 16.

“This travel pass includes one second-class ticket each for the segments from Changsha South to Phoenix Ancient Town, from Phoenix Ancient Town to Zhangjiajie West, and from Zhangjiajie West back to Changsha, priced at just 387 yuan,” explained Yin Siwei, Party Secretary of Zhangjiajie West Station. “In comparison to standard individual ticket purchases, this offers a convenient discount.”

“In simple terms, it’s a case of ‘one purchase, three segments, valid for nine days.’ After purchasing the pass, travelers can take high-speed trains with second-class seating within the specified segments, and it will be valid for nine days from the date of their first journey,” Yin added.

The new travel pass streamlines the purchasing and usage process, making it easier for travelers to manage their itineraries without the hassle of multiple ticket purchases, changes, or refunds. Pass holders will have the flexibility to choose from different train classes, whether they prefer seat reservations or simply flashing their ID to board. Travelers can pre-book their seats via the 12306 website or the “Railway 12306” mobile app, or choose to scan their ID directly at the station, with seat information sent via text to their registered mobile number.

“After purchasing the travel pass, you need to start using it within 30 days, including the purchase day. If you do not take a journey within that period, the product will automatically expire, and you will receive a full refund. It is essential to use the pass at the designated start and end stations, and passengers are not allowed to board or alight at intermediate stops. Additionally, the pass cannot be used for different classes of service,” Yin emphasized.

Going forward, the Guangxi Railway Group aims to leverage the railway’s advantages by developing more “Railway + Tourism” products to meet the growing desires and expectations of travelers looking for enriching travel experiences.
