Korean media- Former South Korean President Moon Jae-in’s daughter is under investigation for suspected drunk driving

On October 5, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul launched an investigation into Moon Dae-hye, the daughter of former President Moon Jae-in, over suspicions of drunk driving, as reported by Yonhap News Agency.

The incident occurred that morning when Dae-hye was involved in a collision with a taxi while changing lanes near the Hamilton Hotel in the Itaewon area of Yongsan. A breathalyzer test conducted by police revealed her blood alcohol concentration to be 0.14%, significantly exceeding the legal limit of 0.08%, which is the threshold for license suspension.

Reports indicate that the taxi driver suffered minor injuries in the crash. Authorities have stated their intention to summon Dae-hye to gather more details about the incident.

In a related matter, South Korean prosecutors are currently investigating allegations concerning the employment practices of East Star Jet, a Thai airline connected to Dae-hye’s husband, Seo. In late August, the Jeonju District Prosecutor’s Office carried out a raid at Dae-hye’s residence in Seoul, implicating her father, Moon Jae-in, as a suspect in a bribery investigation.
