Goods flow globally and materials flow smoothly. New international routes help “Made in China” go global.
On October 9, a CCTV reporter shared insights from the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, highlighting that by the end of September, China has launched over 120 new international cargo flight routes, significantly enhancing its international air freight network.
Statistics from the Aviation Logistics Branch of the federation show that a total of 127 new international cargo routes were established by September 30, with over 370 round-trip flights being added each week. Notably, September alone saw the introduction of 20 international cargo routes, which has led to an increase of more than 60 weekly round-trip flights.
Most of the newly established international cargo routes are located in Asia, with a total of 65 routes. Europe follows with 39 routes, while North America features 18 routes. This expansion involves 62 airlines, including 17 domestic and 45 international carriers. In terms of cargo composition, primary exports consist of cross-border e-commerce goods, fresh produce, electronics, and automotive parts.
Analysts point out that the rapid growth of cross-border e-commerce, coupled with rising exports of what they refer to as the “new three types” of products, has created a robust foundation for the increasing demand for air freight this year.
